Athletics Information for Incoming 9th Graders and New Students

This is a guide for incoming 9th graders and new students who are planning to participate in athletics for the 2023-2024 school year:

  • You must create an account on the website athleticclearance.com, and select Florida. When asked for school, select Dunbar.
  • You will create an account on the website and download the forms (EL2, EL3, and GA4). A physical should be completed by a physician. The physician will clear you to participate in athletics if you are physically able to participate in athletics. When the forms (EL2, EL3, and GA4) are complete, you will upload the forms on your account on the athletic clearance website. (To upload your form, you may use the free app Genius Scan.)
  • Each student should upload his/her certificate of completion for each of the following required courses from the website NFHSLearn.com. The courses include: concussion, heat, policy 36, and cardiac arrest.
  • You will upload the following documents on your athletic clearance account: birth certificate, proof of insurance, Driver’s license of parent for identification purposes, and NFHS certificates of completion (see bullet above)
  • After completing all documents on your account and downloading the previous mention forms, you will be cleared to participate in athletics. You will be notified via email if you are cleared to participate.
  • After the first semester, all incoming 9th graders will need to have a grade point average of 2.0 to participate in athletics during the second semester.
