The JROTC Raider team is a group of high school JROTC students that compete in physical events and competition outside of the classroom. Raiders work on events such as:

  • Cross Country Rescue (CCR)
  • 5k Team Run
  • Obstacle Course or Raider Fitness Challenge (O-Course)
  • PTT (Physical Training Test)
  • Tire Flip
  • Rope Bridge

The purpose of these events is so Raiders will develop discipline, physical and mental toughness in order enhance the leadership, critical thinking and problem solving skills to improve the self-confidence and esprit de corps of each Raider through the spirit of competition. A Raider is a more elite Cadet who arrives at the cutting edge of competition ready to compete, as a Raider, your JROTC Unit and Raider Team will expect you to push yourself to move farther, faster, and work harder than your ever have. United States Army Cadet Command (USACC) is the Sponsoring command for the National Raider Challenge Championship. Raider "season" normally runs from the beginning of the school year through December/January time-frame, depending on whether our team qualifies for regional or state championships. Raider Competition is very physical and, of course, Raider training must be even more physical. In season, our Raiders will conduct intense physical and technical skills training a minimum of 3-4 times per week. Raider Competitions are usually conducted on weekends so that other sports events do not conflict. Being a member of the Raider Team is not for the faint hearted and takes and extraordinary level of commitment, disciplineand physical courage. As challenging as the program may be, the rewards of being a member of this elite group far exceed the sacrifices made. The Raider program is open for all Cadet's (male and female) who have a current school sports physical exam and who have no medical conditions that prevents participation. The intent of the program is to encourage maximum participation and the Brigade will field as many teams as possible. Those who stick with the program all season and compete can earn distinctive awards such as the Raider Shoulder Cord, Arc, and Ribbon.
